How do I get information about works of art in the Gallery's collection?
The Gallery's website provides images for most artworks in the permanent collection, which are accompanied by exhibition histories and publication listings.

Can I see a work of art that is not currently on view?
Please note that for security reasons, access to artworks is determined on a case-by-case basis and granted for research and scholarly purposes only. If you are planning on making a visit to the Gallery to view a particular work of art that is not on display, please call 716.270.8270.

Can I visit the Prints and Drawings Room?
The F. Paul Norton and Frederic P. Norton Family Prints and Drawings Study Center is open for classes and individual research during Gallery hours by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call 716.270.8270 or email jdipalma@albrightknox.org.

Are wedding photos allowed in or outside of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery?
OUTSIDE THE GALLERY
The Albright-Knox Art Gallery permits wedding photographs on the Delaware Park side of the building, on the main steps or on the lawn only, on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to safety concerns, photography is not allowed on the Elmwood Avenue side of the building. Alcohol consumption on any part of Gallery premises is strictly prohibited. Upon leaving, the wedding party is responsible for removing any trash they have generated, and please also remember to take all belongings, as the Gallery is not responsible for lost or forgotten items. To preserve the museum experience and amenities for our members and guests, Gallery restrooms are not available to those in wedding party photographs.

Is photography permitted in the Gallery?
Yes, but we do not permit the use of a flash, and photos must be for personal use only.

Can I sketch or write in the Gallery?
Yes, but with pencil only.

How do I get permission to reproduce images from the Gallery's collection?
All requests for images and the permission to reproduce them must be made in writing and submitted to the Rights and Reproductions department at the Gallery at repro@albrightknox.org or via fax at 716.882.1958. Please include the details of the project and any specific requirements regarding the nature of the reproduction in your request.

Is the Gallery accessible to those with special needs?
The Gallery is committed to making its collection accessible through programs and services for visitors.

Does the Gallery offer any activities for children?
The Gallery's Education department offers many programs and services for children.

Does the Gallery offer birthday parties for children?
The Gallery does not have a program for birthday parties. When you visit the Gallery with your children for a special occasion, we suggest that you tour the museum with our audio wands, which feature special tours for adults and children. For groups of 10 or more, reserve a docent tour by calling 716.270.8226. You can also make a reservation at muse, the Gallery's restaurant, by calling 716.270.8223. As a special treat for the birthday child and his/her guest, think about An Adventure in Looking and Listening, a children's book and CD tour of the museum, which is available for purchase at the Gallery Shop.

Can I have a wedding reception at the Gallery?
The Gallery does not allow wedding receptions. To make a reservation for a rehearsal party or shower, please contact our Events Coordinator at 716.270.8274. You are welcome to take photographs on the outside of the building.

What kinds of tours are offered at the Gallery?
The Gallery offers public tours, school tours, and audio tours of exhibitions.

The audio tour is free with Gallery admission and offers another layer of information for Gallery visitors. When you find a museum label for an artwork printed with this symbol, punch in the appropriate numbers on the keypad of a portable, hand-held listening device to hear more in-depth information about the artwork you are looking at and the artists who made it.

Is there a restaurant at the Gallery?
muse offers casual dining overlooking the Gallery's serene Sculpture Garden. To make a reservation, please call 716.270.8223.

Is there parking at the Gallery?
Yes, parking is available at the Gallery and the rates are as follows:

Members $3.00
Visitors $5.00
Non-Visitors $8.00

Can the Gallery give monetary appraisals for works of art?
No, we are not able to give monetary evaluations. Please call the American Society of Appraisers at 1.800.272.8258.
