Archives and Special Collections
Additionally, the Library proudly maintains several special collections,
among them:
- The Gallery Archives documenting the history of the Albright-Knox
Art Gallery from its inception in 1862 as The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy
to the present day. Contains the official records of the museum and
its volunteer organizations, including minutes of the Board of Directors,
Annual Reports, departmental files, artists correspondence, photographs,
drawings, video and audiotape interviews
- Subject files on artists and art organizations comprising exhibition
announcements, clippings, reviews, and other unique ephemeral items
- A collection of first and rare editions, artists books, and
art objects
