A Walk through the Paper Forest: Latino Prints and Drawings from El Museo del Barrio
September 9 - November 5, 2000

A Walk through the Paper Forest: Latino Prints and Drawings from El Museo del Barrio features more than seventy prints and posters produced by Latino and Latin American artists in this country, as well as Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Colombia, Guatemala, Uruguay, and Panama. The works are bold, colorful, and potent images, often featuring political statements, invitations to festivals, or advertisements for theater productions. This is a traveling exhibition organized by El Museo del Barrio, circulated by the Gallery Association of New York State, and funded in part by the Metropolitan Life Foundation. In Buffalo, this exhibition is sponsored by the Friends of Hispanic Arts, Buffalo. At the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, this exhibition is coordinated by Assistant Curator Claire Schneider.
