“The photos are sort of research into spatial situations in landscape that help me prepare ideas for the installation… in making the cave photos, I realized when I walked into these natural formations that there was a super-intense experience of compressed space that reminded me of standing in a swimming pool without water. So you have a sense of being in a space where you almost can feel the pressure on your body. I might try to realize that experience of space in an installation.” 1
