Bodily Space: Works from the Permanent Collection, a sequel to the Rodin installation, confirmed the relevance of Rodin's innovations while demonstrating the remarkable variance of a figurative tradition since the turn of the last century. Since the Albright-Knox Art Gallery boasts a stellar collection of both modern and contemporary figurative sculpture, in addition to exhibiting compelling contemporary figurative sculptures on loan, works from the permanent collection by modern masters such as Alexander Archipenko, Jean Dubuffet, Gaston Lachaise, and Wilhelm Lehmbruck shared space with works by more contemporary artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Stephan Balkenhol, Petah Coyne, and Cathy de Monchaux.
