Using a Minimalist, industrially-produced aesthetic, Liam Gillick's practice combines sculpture, architecture, text, and décor that traverse the space between theoretical construct and built environment. Gillick has developed a formal language of geometric shapes and polished or colorful materials, and often uses titles to signify meaning and metaphor in his work.
Expanded production horizon, 2008, and Grouped on an old production line, 2007, (pictured here) are site-specific commissions in the museum's entrance and café, respectively, and are part of the artist's body of work titled Construcción de Uno (Construction of One).
