ACCESS AK
The Albright-Knox is committed to creating and fostering a universal environment of accessibility for visitors of all ages. Access AK comprises programs and services for adults who are blind or partially sighted, veterans, and individuals with a wide variety of special needs.
ADULT STUDIO ART WORKSHOPS
These workshops explore the work of a particular artist, or artists, with a tour of a special exhibition, followed by a hands-on art activity in the Education Classrooms. All adult studio art workshops include museum admission for the day of the program.
AK CONTEMPORARY
Each program in this series focuses on a contemporary artist, with a lecture about the artist’s life and work and the screening of a documentary film in which the artist is featured.
AK TEENS
The AK Teens program, presented by First Niagara, is a dynamic mentoring program serving teens from across Western New York and Southern Ontario. Designed to mentor young adults seeking to pursue careers in creativity and the arts, AK Teens provides a platform for young artists to exhibit their work, and to prepare portfolios, which are vital for admission to college arts programs.
ART WITH ARTISTS CLASSES
Encourage your child’s love of art with our Art with Artists classes. In each of these classes, taught by local artists and arts educators, students will visit works in the museum and create hands-on art projects in the classroom.
ART AND YOGA FOR FUN AND RELAXATION
Experience art, yoga, and the many connections between the two. Each class includes stretching, strengthening, and relaxation poses, and ends with an art-inspired meditation.
ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM
The Albright-Knox's Artist-in-Residence Program (AIR) brings cutting-edge contemporary artists to Buffalo to initiate art projects, events, and/or installations that relate to and integrate our community, including its people, history, and unique environment.
ART’SCOOL
Art'scool, presented by the Albright-Knox and BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, is a school tour program designed to create the critical and creative thinkers of tomorrow. All guided school tours are free, include a transportation subsidy, and are led by a specially trained docent.
BOOK AK
Book AK is a museum-hosted book club that will provide the opportunity to explore the lives of artists and learn more about art- and museum-related topics.
DIRECTOR’S LECTURE SERIES
Now in its second year, this series of six lectures provides a unique opportunity to learn about a particular topic, such as the history of museums or the development of the modern definition of the artist. It is designed by Peggy Pierce Elfvin Director Dr. Janne Sirén.
FAMILY WORKSHOPS
In these unique workshops, families are encouraged to work together and get creative. All family workshops include museum admission for the day of the program.
