The Albright-Knox Art Gallery offers art classes for students ages 4 through high school. Classes meet for five sessions in the spring, summer, and fall and include painting, drawing, and sculpture. Students also learn about art in the Gallery, as many projects are inspired by works in the permanent collection. Taught by local artists and art educators, this program is designed to provide an array of creative art experiences both in the Gallery and in the art studio.
In each class, taught by local artists and arts educators, students will visit works in the Gallery and create hands-on art projects—including drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture—in the classroom. In the fall 2010 session, we will explore the special exhibitions Beyond/In Western New York 2010: Alternating Currents and REMIX: Sol LeWitt, and create work inspired by the Gallery’s Collection.
Pre-registration is required, classes are limited to twenty students. To register, please complete and mail the Program Registration Form, call 716.270.8296, or email artclasses@albrightknox.org. Confirmation of registration will be sent by email one week before class begins.
