The Gallery is pleased to announce the publication of a new illustrated book for children, available for purchase in the Gallery Shop. An Adventure in Looking and Listening: Exploring Masterworks at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery is the result of a collaboration between author and educator at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery Jennifer Bayles, composer and sound engineer Chester Popiolkowski of the Buffalo-based children’s theatre company Theatre of Youth, local illustrator Janet Barnett, local designer Ann Casady, and the Publications department and Image Resource Center at the Gallery. This unique museum publication for young people combines full-color reproductions of fifteen artworks in the Gallery’s permanent collection with creative illustrations and an audio CD. Each page is a visual delight, accompanied by enchanting music, evocative sound effects, and the comments of Answer Man and Wondering Woman, the make-believe characters who accompany explorers Luke and Jamie on their art museum adventure. Designed for children aged six to twelve, An Adventure in Looking and Listening will provide engaging fun for the entire family.
