Classes, Workshops, and Lectures
Art with Artists Classes
Encourage your child’s love of art with our Art with Artists classes. In each of these classes, taught by local artists and arts educators, students will visit works in the Gallery and create hands-on art projects in the classroom.
AK Teens Building a Portfolio Art Class
This intensive, two-week art class, taught by an artist, is intended for students who are becoming serious about the visual arts and/or preparing for college applications. The emphasis will be on developing skills and style in drawing, painting, and sculpture.
Each program in this new series will focus on a contemporary artist, with a lecture about the artist’s life and work and the screening of a documentary film in which the artist is featured.
Art and Yoga for Fun and Relaxation
Experience art, yoga, and the many connections between the two. Each class includes stretching, strengthening, and relaxation poses, and ends with an art-inspired meditation.

Join us for this very special opportunity to draw using different techniques during a visual exploration of the 2012–2013 Artist-in-Residence Exhibition Dennis Maher: House of Collective Repair.
