Gallery volunteers gather around Richard Long’s Santa Cruz Circle, 1997, during the 2007 Volunteer Appreciation Reception.
Do you love studying and discussing art? Do you like sharing your passion for art with others? You may want to consider becoming a docent! Docents are volunteers specially trained to guide groups on tours of the Gallery. Administered through the Education department, the program includes an intensive months-long training in art history.
The training course will take place on Thursday evenings from September 4, 2008 through January 29, 2009 from 6 - 9 p.m.
Requirements for being a docent:You don't need a background in art history--that's what we're here for!
After training there's still a lot to look forward to in addition to your tours! For more information, please call 716.270.8201.
