Do you love studying and discussing art? Do you like sharing your passion for art with others? You may want to consider becoming a docent! Docents are volunteers specially trained to guide groups on tours of the Gallery. Administered through the Education department, the program includes an intensive months-long training in art history and tour techniques.
The 2010–2011 training course will take place on Saturday mornings from 9 am to 12:30 pm from September 11, 2010 through March 12, 2011.
The 2010-2011 docent class is now full. No further applications will be accepted.
You don't need a background in art history—that's what we're here for!
After graduation there's still a lot to look forward to in addition to your tours:For more information, please email msmith@albrightknox.org.
The 2009–2010 docent class celebrated their graduation with a special reception at the Gallery.
