Captured: Art’scool Autism Awareness Event
April 15, 2013
On April 10, the Albright-Knox’s Education Department hosted the Art’scool Autism Awareness Event in partnership with Autism Services Inc.
The event began with a presentation in the Auditorium, in which Autism Services Inc. Executive Director Veronica Federiconi presented information about how artistic expression can be a means for people with autism to communicate, and showed a short video about the organization’s creative arts program, Arts Works for Autism Services Inc. Following the presentation, No Words Spoken, a musical group composed of adults with autism, gave a performance. Then, participating students were invited to go on tours of the Gallery’s Collection and participate in art activities in the Education Classrooms.
