Captured: DECADE Celebration Weekend
November 5, 2012
A weekend of events celebrating the special exhibition DECADE: Contemporary Collecting 2002–2012 took place at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery on October 26 and 27, 2012. Beginning on Friday, October 26, artists, gallerists, scholars, Buffalo cultural colleagues, and Gallery supporters participated in a series of conversations between artists and curators, the premiere of an installation by Susan Phillipsz in the Gallery’s Auditorium, a performance by John Bock, and a panel discussion on commerce and creativity.
The weekend culminated in a black-tie gala presented by M&T Bank and Delaware North Companies on Saturday, October 27. More than two hundred and forty guests enjoyed a gourmet meal provided by Delaware North Companies, as well as performances by Janine Antoni and Jill Sigman, and the artist collective gelitin.
The Albright-Knox extends its appreciation to honorary chairpersons Elisabeth Roche Wilmers and Robert Wilmers, as well as event chairpersons Penny and Charles W. Banta, Helen and Andy Cappuccino, Victoria Beck Newman and Jim Newman, and Sarah Williams and Robert J. Bodjak.
