New Historypin Tour: Delaware Park Points of Interest

December 23, 2013

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery has launched a new Historypin tour that explores the architectural history around Delaware Park. The tour extends over a six mile route so we recommend grabbing a bicycle to enjoy this trip through Buffalo's visual history. Ten sites in and around Delaware Park are highlighted on the tour, which includes a selection of photographs that were featured in a 1940 exhibition at the Gallery celebrating the architectural history of the Buffalo area. Each photograph is accompanied with a caption that includes past and present information on each building and a quote by Henry-Russell Hitchcock, the dean of American architectural historians, discussing his personal views on the particular building.

The new Delaware Park Points of Interest tour is part of the Albright-Knox's channel on Historypin, an educational resource launched in November 2013. Links to the new Delaware Park tour as well as two other Historypin walking tours can be found below.
