Summer Fundraiser a Success
July 1, 2011
The Gallery's fundraiser atmosphere, on Thursday, June 30, was a huge success. Highlights of the evening included a special preview of Videosphere: A New Generation, the first exhibition of works in new media drawn exclusively from the Gallery’s Collection, and the lighting of Nancy Rubins's monumental new sculpture on the Gallery's front lawn.
Five of the artists whose works are featured in Videosphere—Brody Condon, James Drake, Jaye Rhee, Kelly Richardson, and Peter Sarkisian—attended the event and spoke about their works in the exhibition. Also, Nancy Rubins announced the name of her new work: Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Monochrome I, Built to Live Anywhere, at Home Here.
Special thanks to everyone who attended and to all of our generous sponsors, who made the evening possible.
Videosphere officially opened July 1, and will be on view through Sunday, October 9, 2011. Nancy Rubins's sculpture will be on view on the Gallery's front lawn indefinitely.
