2012 Matter at Hand Exhibition Opens in Education Corridor

Early this afternoon, the Gallery held a community reception for the opening of Hands Up!, an exhibition of artwork created by participants in the Gallery’s Matter at Hand program, which provides enriching art experiences for visitors of different ages and needs.

The exhibition is on view in the Education Exhibition Corridor through Sunday, March 11, 2012.

Matter at Hand serves more than 1,500 Gallery visitors with special needs each year. The program combines tours of the Gallery’s Collection and special exhibitions, hands-on art workshops, and group discussions to enable individuals to express themselves and to learn about the language and creation of art.
