In celebration of Women’s History Month, this tour will focus on the special exhibition Agnes Martin: The New York–Taos Connection (1947–1957). Martin was one of the few women to stand out during a revolutionary period of American art in the 1940s and 1950s. Her meditative paintings, drawings, and writings have influenced generations of artists interested in abstraction.
This special tour will also be offered on Saturdays, March 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2013, at 1:30 pm.
This series of tours is offered in partnership with the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women and the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library in celebration of 2013 Women’s History Month.
The museum is closed. Please visit us tomorrow between 10 am and 5 pm.
