The Buffalo News Summer Jazz Series Concert: The Phil DiRe' Quintet

Join us for a concert by the Phil DiRe' Quintet, featuring Phil DiRe' on tenor saxophone, Matt Michaud on guitar, Tim Clark on trumpet, Danny Ziemann on bass, Dan Hull on drums and special guest Jay Beckenstein from Spyro Gyra on reeds.

Phil DiRe' has held several notable roles in music, including member of the United States Marine Band, a founding member of the Buffalo Jazz Ensemble, and director of the Association for Jazz Performance. After a twenty year hiatus from music, DiRe' formed “Buffalo Bop” with Bobby Militello, Richie Merlo, Sabu Adeyola, George Caldwell, and Louie Marino. During their first year performing, “Buffalo Bop” won the Artvoice award for Best Jazz Group.

About The Buffalo News Summer Jazz Series

The Buffalo News Summer Jazz Series is back at the Albright-Knox. Concerts will take place on the museum’s Delaware Stairs overlooking Hoyt Lake on five Sundays at 2 pm, from July 6 through August 3, with a rain date on August 10. Admission is free. Bring the whole family to enjoy this summer tradition!

PARKING

Limited parking is available in the museum’s parking lot on Elmwood Avenue. Parking is $5 for visitors and $3 for Members. Please bring your parking ticket into the museum to have it validated at the Admissions Desk. There is also parking available on the roads surrounding the Albright-Knox. Please take care to adhere to all parking regulations. Violators will be ticketed and/or towed. View Alternate Parking Map (PDF)
