Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

Salsa and merengue with Unit 3 are only the beginning of this celebration in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and cultures around the world.

Pastelito Tasting
Try pastelitos—baked or fried pastries stuffed with meat or cheese filling—from Willie’s Corner Restaurant in Buffalo. 

7:30–8:15 pm
Performance: Unit III (Set 1)
Unit III is a celebration of a variety of styles of percussion from the Caribbean and South America. Led by guitarist Manny Perez, the percussive pieces explore the cultures of Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Mexico, and other Latino influences. Unit III also features Freddie Malave, Carlos Day, Juan Colon, Guiche Pirela, and Mike Ruopoli. 

8:15 pm
Performance: Lettisha, The Bomba Queen
Lettisha will perform a fusion of Bomba, belly dance, and other dances influenced by the Caribbean. 

8:45–9:30 pm
Performance: Unit III (Set 2)
