Holiday Tree Lighting

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery's Holiday Tree with Neopolitan crèche.

Sculpture Court

Please join us for the official lighting of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery’s traditional holiday tree. This year, the tree is installed in the Gallery’s magnificent Sculpture Court and once again features our eighteenth-century Neapolitan Crèche, given in memory of Helen Northrup Knox by her close friend Mrs. Howell H. Howard. This set of Crèche figurines is one of only three in the United States, with the other two in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the White House.

This year’s tree, Crèche, and star were assembled by Jean Knox, wife of the late Seymour H. Knox III, who was President of the Board of Directors of The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy from 1984 to 1996. Mrs. Knox was ably assisted by Connie Knox, Joseph Gerace, Andrew F. Ross, and the staff of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
