Beyond/In Western New York 2010: Alternating Currents Artist Scott McCarney talks about his work from the exhibition currently on view at Western New York Book Arts Center (WNYBAC). He has transformed outdated books into meticulously crafted three-dimensional collage, combining vintage pornography, tedious definitions, and plays-on-words. His works is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and has been shown internationally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Melbourne, Australia, and Budapest, Hungary. He is currently a teacher at the School of Print Media at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
