More than one hundred hula-hoops were available for visitors to create a huge sculpture using colorful Velcro tags. In another part of the space, vintage hairdryers lined a pink counter playing music from the 1950s. Scattered along the room were hairdryer cases filled with 1950s items such as Pez dispensers, Barbie books, and Gumby bendable dolls. Hoopla! was designed in conjunction with the exhibition The Tumultuous Fifties: A View From The New York Times Photo Archives.
