Since the mid-1950s, artist and arts educator John Baldessari (American, born 1931) has fused photography, montage, painting, and text to create complex visual poems that explore the multifaceted interpretations of cultural iconography. An artist’s book, Close-Cropped Tales, was created to accompany the exhibition.
