Circa 1900: From the Genteel Tradition to the Jazz Age

This catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition "Circa 1900: From the Genteel Tradition to the Jazz Age," which was on view at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery from May 6 to August 19, 2001. The exhibition traveled to The Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute Museum of Art in Utica, New York; the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York; the Albany Institute of History and Art; Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York; and the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester.

The publication featured an essay by exhibition organizer Helen A. Raye and a text by Claire Schneider, both of which explore the art admired from around 1880 to 1920.
