It's shaping up to be another busy summer for AK Public Art! Here on the blog, we're taking a closer look at this year's class of murals, sculptures, and other projects.

The mesmerizing black-and-white patterns, bold prismatic forms, and oversized fluorescent pixels of Felipe Pantone’s Optichromie—BUF simultaneously speak to both contemporary digital art and culture as well as the Op and Kinetic art of the 1960s. After experimenting with numerous graffiti styles as a teenager and young adult, the artist found himself drawn to especially the work of Carlos Cruz-Diez, Julio Le Parc, Luis Tomasello, and Victor Vasarely—all of whom are represented in the Albright-Knox’s collection—as a primary source of inspiration for his current imagery.
