Collection Spotlight: Flowers

This Valentine's Day, we're taking a look at how works in our collection depict flowers differently over time. The earliest work below—Richard Earlom's A Flower Piece, 1778—is incredibly detailed and lifelike (even in black-and-white), while one of the later works—Alexander Calder's Spiral Flowers, ca. 1976—is a much more representational take on the subject.
