Building a Portfolio Art Class

Summer 2016 Session

Monday, July 18–Friday, July 22, and Monday, July 25–Friday, July 29, 2016

This intensive, two-week art class, taught by an artist, is intended for students who are becoming serious about the visual arts and/or preparing for college applications. The emphasis will be on developing skills and style in drawing, painting, and sculpture and completing several pieces that could be included in a portfolio for college admission.

We are offering two sessions: A morning session (9 am–noon) and an afternoon session (1–4 pm). Both sessions are open to students ages 13–18.

Each session is limited to fifteen students. Registration and pre-payment for the complete session are required. Refunds will not be given for missed classes within the session. Please register online using the links above or call 716.270.8292. You can also register in person at the Albright-Knox Admissions Desk. Confirmation of registration will be sent by email one week before class begins.

The deadline for registration is Friday, July 1, 2016. The Albright-Knox Art Gallery reserves the right to cancel classes due to low registration numbers.


This scholarship is awarded to students ages 13–18 who require financial assistance to attend the AK Teens Building a Portfolio Art Class. Awarded students will receive one session of art classes free of charge. Scholarships generously provided by the First Niagara Foundation.
