One of the main functions of any museum is to store and care for its objects, so that they may be enjoyed by future generations. As contemporary artists increasingly turn to unusual materials to make their art, museums and their conservators must adapt, finding new ways to handle everything from electric motors to trash picked up off the sidewalk (yes, really!). In this After Hours at AK event, Godin-Spaulding Curator & Curator for the Collection Holly E. Hughes will be joined by Tracy Dulniak of Great Lakes Art Conservation to discuss the ways in which the Albright-Knox is tackling the challenges of caring for even the most unusual works of contemporary art.

Space is limited; RSVP/buy tickets online or contact 716.270.8247 or membership@albrightknox.org by Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
