Summer Art Classes for Ages 12–14

Weeklong Sessions

Ceramics
Monday, July 8–Friday, July 12, 2019, 1–4 pm

$185 / $160 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

In this weeklong half-day class, students will learn the basics of ceramics and create different works through various techniques. (Projects will be fired; project pickup dates will be arranged for later in the month to accommodate kiln firing schedules.) Register Online

Comic Book Illustration
Monday, July 15–Friday, July 19, 2019, 1–4 pm

In this weeklong half-day class, students will learn the basics of comic book illustration and develop their own comic books. This class is a perfect fit for a budding illustrator or storyteller! Register Online

Painting
Monday, July 22–Friday, July 26, 2019, 1–4 pm

$185 / $160 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

In this weeklong half-day class, students will learn new painting techniques each day and create a final masterpiece inspired by works in the museum's collection. Register Online

Unusual Materials
Monday, August 5–Friday, August 9, 2019, 1–4 pm

$185 / $160 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

In this weeklong half-day class, students will explore non-traditional materials and create a variety of artworks inspired by the museum’s collection. Register Online

Printmaking
Monday, August 12–Friday, August 16, 2019, 1–4 pm

$185 / $160 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

In this weeklong half-day class, students will explore the world of printmaking and learn to make multiples of their artwork that can be reproduced on paper, patches, and posters. Register Online

Half-Day Workshops

Ceramics

Printmaking 
Tuesday, July 30, 2019, 1–4 pm

In this half-day workshop, students will learn printmaking techniques and create their own print masterpieces inspired by works in the museum’s collection. Register Online

Sculpture
Wednesday, July 31, 2019, 1–4 pm

$40 / $35 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

In this half-day workshop, students will create their own 3D sculptures using materials that are all around us. Register Online

Alternative Photography
Thursday, August 1, 2019, 1–4 pm

$40 / $35 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

In this half-day workshop, students will learn a new medium of photography: the cyanotype. Working with photo paper and different exposure methods, they will create a variety of alternative photographic prints. Register Online
