Summer Art Classes for Ages 9–11

Weeklong Sessions

Art Discovery: Painting
Monday, July 15–Friday, July 19, 2019, 9 am–4 pm

$300 / $260 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

In this weeklong all-day class, students will learn new painting techniques each day and create a final masterpiece inspired by works in the museum's collection. (Students are asked to bring a bagged lunch each day.) This class is sold out!

Art Discovery: Sculpture
Monday, August 5–Friday, August 9, 2019, 9 am–4 pm

$300 / $260 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

In this weeklong all-day class, students will create 3D sculptures using materials that are all around us. (Students are asked to bring a bagged lunch each day.) Register Online

Ceramics
Monday, August 12–Friday, August 16, 2019, 1–4 pm

$185 / $160 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

Students in this weeklong half-day program will learn the basics of ceramics and create different works using various techniques. (Projects will be fired; please note that project pickup dates will be arranged to accommodate kiln firing schedules.) Register Online

Art Discovery: Alternative Photography
Wednesday, July 31, 2019, 1–4 pm

$40 / $35 for Members (supplies and snacks included)

In this half-day workshop, students will learn a new medium of photography: the cyanotype. Working with photo paper and different exposure methods, they will create a variety of alternative photographic prints. Register Online

Art Discovery: Printmaking
Thursday, August 1, 2019, 1–4 pm

In this half-day workshop, students will learn printmaking techniques and create their own print masterpieces inspired by works in the museum’s collection. Register Online
