Join us for an artist talk by Stephen Hannock in celebration of The Great Falls; for Xu Bing (MassMoca #180), which he recently gifted to the Albright-Knox. Hannock’s work will be joined by additional historical and contemporary interpretations of Niagara Falls drawn from the museum’s collection in an installation entitled Picturing Niagara.

Light refreshments will be served following the artist talk.

About the Artist

Stephen Hannock (American, born 1951) is best known for his large-scale, atmospheric landscape paintings. He will talk about his practice and the story behind The Great Falls; for Xu Bing (MassMoca #180). In this multifaceted work, Hannock weaves a stunning visual narrative of Niagara Falls as told through the history of art and artists' relationships to the natural wonder.
