Since its inception in 2014, the Albright-Knox Public Art Initiative has enlivened Western New York communities with more than twenty works of public art. From beloved works like Casey Riordan Millard’s Shark Girl, to ephemeral installations like Amanda Browder's Spectral Locus, which draped three landmark buildings around Buffalo in brilliantly colored fabric during the summer of 2016, public art sparks dialogue, creates strong neighborhoods, and establishes our region as a vibrant cultural center.  

Spend an afternoon hearing the process, purpose, and stories behind several of the Initiative’s most popular works from Curator of Public Art Aaron Ott. Ferried by a festive trolley, the tour will explore several artworks in the Public Art Initiative around Buffalo and include a few surprise stops along the way, featuring some of the city's best bites and sips. Please meet the trolley at 12:45 pm in front of the museum near the Elmwood Avenue Entrance. Free parking will be available in our Elmwood Avenue lot—please bring your parking tickets with you for validation.
