Join the Buffalo Chamber Players for a workshop and performance of Terry Riley’s In C. Premiered in 1964 at the San Francisco Tape Music Center, the work is a musical reaction to the stifling rigidity of serialism and academic composers of the time. The event will begin with a brief workshop explaining the piece, its history, and how our performance will unfold. All you need is an instrument or your voice, the ability to read music, and an open mind! Non-playing participants are welcome to the pre-performance workshop. Together we will create a memorable performance experience of this seminal minimalist work.

Music will be available on the day of the event, including parts for transposing instruments. If you would like a practice part in advance, please email the Buffalo Chamber Players at info@buffalochamberplayers.org and let us know what instrument you play.
