2013 Art’scool “Inspired” Online Exhibition

Friday, May 3–Sunday, June 9, 2013

Mary Ellen Bossert’s 2nd grade students at Grover L. Priess Primary School in Eden used computer software to create images that evoke the sensation of motion. They were inspired by Jackson Pollock’s Convergence, 1952.

Online Exhibition

Since Fall 2012, K–12 teachers from throughout Western New York have visited the Albright-Knox with their students and entered our Art’scool “Inspired” contest, making it clear that viewing and discussing art, artmaking, and learning are deeply connected. Each participating class visited the Gallery through our Art’scool program, and a dedicated educator then submitted the artwork students made in response to the visit, related information about activities they did in the classroom, and evidence of connections across curricular disciplines.

All contest entries are currently on view in the online gallery below. Please take a look, and be inspired!

The Art’scool “Inspired” contest and exhibition are presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York.
