Artwork by participant of Access AK: Creative Connection

Education Exhibition Hallway

Process to Discovery highlights artworks created through the Access AK: Creative Connection program, in which participants of all ages with special needs explore a variety of works in the museum’s Collection. The majority of works in this exhibition were created as a way to process information shared during tours of Anselm Kiefer: Beyond Landscape. Discovery through texture was a driving creative force for the artists.

The exhibition also contains a collaborative artwork created by Gabrielle Brewer, Roderick Crockett, and Lisa Tribunella. The work highlights the artists' abilities and the process of learning through artmaking. Their project was completed in celebration of Disability Awareness.

The Access AK: Creative Connection participants whose works are featured in this exhibition visited the AK with Heritage Christian Services, Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara, PS 42 Occupational Training Center, PS 302 Emerson School of Hospitality, and PS 305 McKinley High School.

Admission to this exhibition is free on M&T FIRST FRIDAYS @ THE GALLERY.
