Captured: Access AK: Creative Connection Exhibition Opening

March 20, 2013

Students from North Tonawanda Learning Center with their class’ artwork

On March 15, the Gallery held a community reception for the opening of Engage, Exchange, Expand, an exhibition of artwork created by participants in the Gallery’s Access AK: Creative Connection program, which provides enriching art experiences for visitors of different ages and needs.

Access AK: Creative Connection serves more than 1,500 Gallery visitors with special needs each year. The program combines tours of the Gallery’s Collection and exhibitions, hands-on art workshops, and group discussions to enable individuals to express themselves and to learn about the language and creation of art.

View photos from the opening and the exhibition below. We also invite you to come and see the full exhibition, which will be on view in the Education Exhibition Hallway through Sunday, April 7, 2013. Admission to this exhibition is free on Friday, April 5, as part of M&T FIRST FRIDAYS @ THE GALLERY.

Access AK is made possible through the generous support of the James H. Cummings Foundation, Inc. Endowment; The William M. Wood Foundation; and National Fuel.
