Cubes and Rectangles, Boxes and Containers August 16, 2013–April 20, 2014 Cubes and rectangles can be some of the quietest forms in art. Boxes and containers are altogether different from their non-referential counterparts; by definition, they contain something. This exhibition explored all four forms. Buffalo's Monuments Men February 6, 2014–April 6, 2014 Buffalo's Monuments Men presented archival materials, as well as recently discovered information about one of the Albright-Knox’s paintings, to celebrate the contributions made by Buffalo’s Monuments Men to the preservation of Europe’s cultural heritage during World War II. Ken Price: Slow and Steady Wins the Race, Works on Paper, 1962–2010 September 27, 2013–January 19, 2014 Co-organized by the Albright-Knox and The Drawing Center, this exhibition included more than 60 works on paper by Ken Price, many of which had rarely been exhibited. Kota Ezawa: REDRAWN October 4, 2013–January 19, 2014 This exhibition featured a selection of works from a series Kota Ezawa created that focuses on physical space versus illusionary space, and how reality and fiction merge to form intricate relationships in films, television, and photographs. Robert Therrien July 3, 2013–October 27, 2013 Since the 1970s, Robert Therrien has created work sourced from memory and the everyday, coaxing humble elements into surreal configurations through abstraction, repetition, color, and scale. Trine Lise Nedreaas: Yana and Noname June 21, 2013–September 29, 2013 Trine Lise Nedreaas works mainly in video, using a post-production process that gives her works, which are based on fictional elements, a documentary-like feeling. This exhibition focused on Nedreaas's Yana and Noname, 2009. R. B. Kitaj: Don’t Listen to the Fools June 21, 2013–September 15, 2013 R. B. Kitaj’s works explore questions central to the development of the 20th century, while also incorporating autobiographical qualities. This exhibition featured more than 75 works in the Albright-Knox’s collection.
