An upside-down, loosely painted image of a seated woman fill this vertically oriented painting. The woman’s face, near the bottom center of the canvas, is quite legible, but her form progressively becomes more abstract toward her feet at the upper right of the canvas. The confident, gray strokes that define her outline are filled with white and occasional rose hues; the background is also predominately white. — Georg Baselitz
