Play Break: Live Painting with Julia Bottoms

Thursday, April 4, 2024

4 pm - 7 pm EDT

FREE
Wilson Town Square, Knox Building

Julia Bottoms will share a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her studio practice as she live-paints a series of illustrations depicting Black historic figures. At the conclusion of this ongoing series, the illustrations will later be assembled into a book, which will be distributed for free to schools throughout Buffalo, NY, to promote year-round Black history education. QR codes will be provided at the event on signage near the artist that will link visitors to the story behind the figure in the illustration that’s being painted.
