Making a Connection: Language and Imagery (Education Exhibition)
Shea’s Performing Arts Center's Exploring the Arts Program
Saturday, January 15–Wednesday, February 9, 2011
The Exploring the Arts program at Shea’s Performing Arts Center introduced students in grades nine through twelve to a number of art forms, including the visual, literary, and performing arts. Students participated in seven workshops, worked with artists in various disciplines, received a tour and workshop at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, attended a performance at Shea’s Performing Arts Center, and created and performed an original written work (poem or monologue) that was inspired by a work from the Albright-Knox’s Collection. The theme of this exhibition is writing inspired by visual art.
