In addition to our Fine Art Collection, the Albright-Knox also cares for and manages our Digital Assets Collection, Library Collection, and Museum Archives and Special Collections.
The Albright-Knox currently cares for and manages an ever-growing collection of more than 200,000 born-digital and digitized assets in various formats. These Digital Assets represent the history of the museum and document its collections, exhibitions, events, and leaders.
The G. Robert Strauss, Jr. Memorial Library preserves resources that reflect the museum’s permanent holdings. It has more than 53,000 titles, as well as several special resources and collections. Due to our building of the future Buffalo AKG Art Museum, we are not able to make appointments for use of the Library or field reference questions at this time.
The Albright-Knox’s Archives and Special Collections include the official records of the museum’s governing body, The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy, as well as special collections of archival material, including the Natalie and Irving Forman Papers and Clyfford Still Photo-Documentation.
