About the Artist

Aaqil Ali is a Poetic artist from Mount Vernon, NY, locally referred to as "The Ville." Mount Vernon is a historical breeding ground for talented artists, actors, and professional athletes. Aaqil’s melodic, gritty flow stems from his 90s crack-era upbringing. Writing music as early as 11 years old, during such a pivotal time in hip-hop, you can easily hear how Method Man, Rakim, Nas, and Talib Kweli have influenced his style. As a poet who articulates his life experiences with charisma and savvy, he has earned and lives up to the "Sky Walker" moniker given to him by his peers.
