About Squeaky Wheel

Squeaky Wheel Film & Media Art Center has a mission to continue a legacy of innovation in media arts through access, education, and exhibition. We envision a community that uses electronic media and film to celebrate freedom of expression and diversity of voice. Founded in 1985 by a cadre of artists including Tony Conrad, Chris Hill, and Julie Zando, Squeaky Wheel serves the Western New York community with classes and workshops for both adults and youth, a continuing series of screenings and gallery exhibitions, and low-cost access to equipment. Our focus covers the entire spectrum of media arts, from traditional celluloid practices to newer technologies such as virtual reality and 3D mapping.
