FREE for educators
This presentation will focus on the artist Deborah Roberts, who is best known for her collage-based portraits of Black children in which she pairs photographs and materials from magazines with hand-drawn and painted elements. Inspired by Roberts's The Front Lines, 2018, and That One, 2018, in the Albright-Knox’s collection, we’ll explore how the artist's concepts of beauty, identity, and race can inspire lesson plan development and artmaking.

About the Series
In these free monthly presentations just for educators, we will explore contemporary artists from the Albright-Knox’s collection and public art projects for curriculum inspiration. Join School and Docent Programs Coordinator Lindsay Kranz for discussions on how contemporary artists are exploring what it means to be a citizen in the 21st century and how those themes might engage students in virtual and in-person learning.
