Organized by Samuel C. Miller, Assistant to the Director, Contemporary British Paintings and Sculpture included forty-eight works from the Albright-Knox’s collection, many of which were recent acquisitions, and twenty-four loans; four of which (Robert Adams's Column, 1961; David Prentice's Passer-Welsh Green, 1964; Peter Phillips's War/Game, 1961; and John Hoyland’s No. 42.10.11.61, 1961) later entered the museum’s collection.
