Pre-K–12 School Group Tour Terms of Agreement

  • Please enter through our Education Entrance, where you will be greeted by a member of our staff. We suggest arriving 5–10 minutes before your tour start time.
  • Before your visit, please divide your students into the designated number of groups indicated on your confirmation letter.
  • All Pre-K–12 groups are required to have a minimum of one chaperone per 12 students.
  • Please note that tours for students in grades Pre-K–2 are 45 minutes long and tours for students in grades 3–12 are one hour long.

Late Policy

  • Our guided tours are given by volunteer docents. To be mindful of their donated time, a tour will still end at its original end time in the case of a late arrival.
  • We know that there are circumstances which will cause a school group to be late. If you know you will be arriving past your tour start time, please call 716.270.8276 as soon as possible. If there is no answer, we would appreciate a voicemail message with an update.
  • Groups that arrive more than 20 minutes late might not have the chance to go on a guided tour. If this is the case, your group will be allowed to visit the museum as a self-guided group.

  • You may cancel up to the 21st of the month prior to the month of your visit. If a First Student bus is cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, your school will be invoiced a fee of $75.
  • If you need to cancel your tour, please call 716.270.8276. The sooner you call, the more likely it will be that we can find another date for your visit. If a tour is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions or an emergency, please call 716.270.8276 before 9 am on your scheduled tour date. There is no bus cancellation fee if school is cancelled for any reason. We will do our best to reschedule your tour.

Tour Groups

  • The museum makes arrangements with our volunteers and staff according to the number of students indicated on your Tour Request Form. Please inform the School and Docent Programs Coordinator if that number changes before the date of your visit.
  • Chaperones need to play an active role in order to ensure the success of a group tour. Please make sure to review the Museum and Chaperone Guidelines with all of your chaperones before arriving at the museum.
  • Please relay to your chaperones that younger siblings, including those in strollers and baby carriers, are not allowed on guided school tours.

  • The Albright-Knox has no group lunch facilities and is unable to accommodate requests for space to eat lunch.
