Organized by the WNY Disability History Week Coalition, a group of individuals and organizations in Western New York dedicated to teaching, promoting, and celebrating the accomplishments and history of people with differing abilities

Artists from The Arts Experience, Starlight Studio and Art Gallery, St. Mary’s School for the Deaf, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery’s Matter at Hand program come together to celebrate Disability History Week.

Disability History Week is an annual celebration that occurs during the third week in October. It is a time to celebrate disability history and acknowledge the impact that individuals with disabilities have had on our society. It is a time to reflect on how we, as a society, once viewed and treated people with disabilities, and on the language we once used to refer to people with disabilities.
