Art of Jazz 2015–2016

The Art of Jazz welcomes you back for an exciting season of new sounds in jazz, featuring four ensembles performing in Buffalo for the first time that bring deeply rooted musical influences from Serbia, Cuba, and far beyond.

Slavic Soul Party!

The internationally recognized nine-piece band creates an acoustic mash-up of Balkan and Rom (gypsy) sounds with North American jazz, weaving gospel, funk and Latin influences into a Balkan setting. 

Dave Douglas Quintet

Trumpeter Dave Douglas has been internationally recognized for his efforts as a player, composer, teacher, and supporter of independent jazz. 

Yosvany Terry Quintet

Sunday, January 31, 2016, 3 pm

Since emigrating to New York in 1999, the Cuban saxophonist/percussionist/composer has performed with numerous jazz luminaries.

David Sanford’s Pittsburgh Collective

Sunday, March 13, 2016, 3 pm

David Sanford makes music that straddles the line between jazz and modern classical.

Tickets

Individual concert tickets are $29 ($24 for AK Members). Season tickets for all four concerts are available at a discounted rate of $105 ($85 for AK Members) before the first concert on October 3. Purchase tickets by phone at 716.270.8292 or in person at the Albright-Knox Admissions Desk. Concerts often sell out in advance of each performance, so please purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment.

AK Café serves lunch on Sundays from noon to 3 pm and will serve dinner before the concerts on Saturday, October 3, and Saturday, November 7. Reservations are essential; please call 716.270.8223.
