Ten identical boxes industrially fabricated out of galvanized iron and orange Plexiglas protrude seemingly weightlessly from the wall in a vertical stack. Each box is separated from the unit above and below by a space equal to its height. When lit from above, the sculpture casts a dramatic pattern of orange and gray shadows on the adjacent walls and floor.

Overall, the sculpture abstractly mimics the human form: a vertical half circle at the top serves as a head and is connected to the rest of the work by a long vertical rectangle that resembles a neck. The artist’s palette of black, beige, and grey conveys a dark and tense atmosphere.

Yellow, jagged-edged forms tear through portions of this mostly matte black canvas. The largest of these forms runs the full height of the painting near its right edge. Each of the yellow streaks includes small areas of white, which most appear in the center of the form, flanked by larger areas of yellow. Three small patches of unpainted canvas are visible near the bottom-left corner.

The majority of this portrait-oriented canvas is an uninterrupted expanse of matte black. In the bottom third of the canvas, a mixed-media element in shallow relief extends from the left edge. This element appears to have a bumpy, ridged texture in places. There are roughly defined and thinly applied patches of dark yellow-brown paint that appear to overlay the relief element.
